Privacy and cookies

We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and this Privacy & Cookies Policy is designed to help you understand how we and our sub-contractors collect, store and use the personal information you share when using the Site and its directly associated domains .

By using or accessing the Site, you are accepting the practices described in this Policy.

Definitions contained in our Terms of Use shall, unless the context requires otherwise, also apply to this Policy.

The information we collect

When you visit the Site you provide us with up to three different types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected by us, personal information that you (knowingly or unknowingly) share with Communities and Site use information collected by us as you interact with the Site.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website.  Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use (for example, browser type, IP address, geographic location, length of visit and number of page views) by means of cookies, which are stored on users' computers.  The information generated relating to the Site is used to create reports about the use of the Site. Google will store this information.  Google's privacy policy is available at: http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html.

In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies". A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. We use "session ID" cookies to confirm that registered users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. By default, we use a "persistent" cookie that stores your Log In Details to make it easier for you to log in when you come back to the Site. You can remove or block all or just third party cookies using the settings in your browser if you want to disable this convenience feature.  Blocking cookies will, however, have a negative effect upon the usability of the Site.

Our payment services providers may also send you cookies.

When you register with us, you may provide us with certain personal information, such as your name, email address, gender, date of birth, country, your public profile information and any other personal or preference information that you provide to us.

When you interact with the Communities section of the Site, you may add people to your contact list, form or join groups, invite friends, send written, photo or video messages and make comments, engage in one to one discussions and transmit and share information through various channels. We collect this information so that we can provide you the service and offer personalised features. We retain this information so that, for instance, you can return to see which Groups you are in, to view messages you have posted or easily see your contact list. When you update information, we usually keep a back-up copy of the prior version for a reasonable period of time to enable reversion to the prior version of that information.

You post User Content (as defined in the Terms of Use) on the Site at your own risk. Although privacy settings for closed and hidden Groups restrict the visibility and access to those Groups and who may interact with them, you should be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. In addition, we cannot control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share your User Content.

Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that User Content you post to Groups will not be viewed by unauthorised persons.

You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of your User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored it.

For everyone's safety, we reserve the right to review, either manually or using systemic or automated means, all User Content.  This applies to all Groups, whatever their status, whether open, closed or hidden, and includes those belonging to a Partner.

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on the Site is a violation of the Terms of Use and should be reported to us through Contact Us.

If you use our "Invite a friend" or "Add new contacts" facilities to tell a friend or contact about the Site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation. We will send your friend or contact an email in your name inviting him or her to visit the Site and, where relevant, to be a contact of you. We store this information to send invitations, to register a contact connection if your invitation is accepted, to allow you to see invitations you have sent and to track whether the invitations have been accepted. Your friend or contact may Contact us to request that we remove this information from our database.

We may also collect information about you from other users of the Site through the operation of the service (eg through the uploading of written, photo or video messages).

Information that we collect may be stored and processed in and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.

Information which you provide may be transferred to countries (including the United States) which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Area. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that in such circumstances your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.

In addition, personal information that you post on the Site will be published on the internet and may be available, via the internet and subject to the relevant privacy settings, around the world.
